COVID Update

Dear JLL Families:

By now you are aware of the effects, cancellations and schedule changes that have occurred due to the recent spread of the Coronavirus.  As we have monitored the recent activities, understand we place a high priority of safety for our players, coaches, volunteers and ultimately you, the parent.

As indicated in a previous email on March 12, we are going to continue to suspend all league activities, extending through April 12.  During that time period our Board will continue to assess what is happening in our region and state while consulting with local health authorities and officials.

During this time teams may not practice nor should they be participating in team activities.  You might have gotten a correspondence from your coach, but that coach should not be facilitating a practice.  Please let a member of our board know if that is not the case.

With this stoppage, we are going to cancel our coach’s clinic and field clean up day that was previously scheduled for March 28.  Equipment and uniforms will be held and ready for distribution should we get back on the fields.

I will work to provide updates as they become readily available to us.  I know I speak for our entire board that we would love nothing more than to see our facility open and kids running around.  However, in these times we also have the moral obligation to adhere to our officials and help slow the spread of the virus, which once we do, I am hopeful we can return to the diamond.

Below are steps you and your family can take to help:

What you can do

The CDC recommends taking the following preventative actions to lessen the spread of viruses including:

  • Stay home if you or a family member is sick.
  • Cover your mouth with your upper arm or a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
