2019 Season - Announcements & Key Dates


	Johnston Little League Welcome to the 2019 Season

As we close in on the beginning of another season at Johnston Little League, there are several key dates and changes we want to share.

Early Bird Discount - Registration will open January 2nd and run through March 1st. Those that register by January 15th will receive an early bird discount and be entered to win one of five $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards.

New Website – The website and registration process has changed to a new look and feel for 2019, but remains at www.jllbaseball.com. In order to make sure you don’t miss upcoming communications, please create your account on the site today!

Division Realignment – The 10, 11 and 12 year old league age groups will now be split into the Majors and AAA Minors divisions. Some of the benefits include ensuring that younger players aren't required to move up to Majors before they are ready, fostering a high level of competition in this more intense division, and keeping the Majors division at 10 teams or fewer to avoid the need to double-charter. More details on this change and all divisions of play are available on the Registration page.

Volunteers – More than a hundred volunteers are required to make the season a success. Are you interested in volunteering to lead a team as its Manager, serve as an Assistant Coach, or help organize as a Team Parent? Indicate your interests while registering your child, or on the Volunteer Opportunitiespage.

Johnston Baseball Winter Camp – Coach Barta has assembled an accomplished team that will administer a 1-day camp at the Johnston Middle School this Saturday December 15th. While the 9-12 grade session is taking wait list registrations, the 5-8th grade sessions still has availability. Register by clicking the link on our website.

Key Dates – Mark your calendars for player evaluations Saturday March 2nd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with exact times by age group specified as the date approaches. JLL’s annual coaches clinic and field cleanup day will be Saturday March 9th. The first games for the 9 year old and up divisions are tentatively slated for the 8th of April, with the younger divisions to follow the next week.
